The right adjustable height desk depends on how you plan to use it. Choose electric adjustment if you want to change position with a button during the workday. Consider a manual crank if you prefer a desk that adjusts without a power connection and are comfortable turning a handle. In either case, check the lowest height, desktop size and exact model before buying.

Manual vs. electric: which adjustment suits your routine?

• Frequent changes: Electric adjustment removes the need to crank the desk up and down. Memory buttons, when included, let you return to saved settings.
• No nearby outlet: A manual crank raises and lowers the desk without a motor or power cable. Your computer and other equipment may still need power.
• Occasional adjustment: A crank can be practical if you do not mind the repeated turns. Check that its handle is reachable from your normal working position.
• Total cost: Compare complete configurations. A frame-only offer can look inexpensive until you add a compatible desktop, delivery and any accessories.

The VIVO option is the DESK-KIT-MB6B manual crank desk kit, marketed as 60 × 24 inches. Its listed top dimensions are 59 × 23.6 inches. That gives you more desktop width than the 48-inch EN1 configuration above, while height adjustment requires turning the crank rather than pressing a button.

This listing includes the desktop and frame; VIVO also sells separate frames, so confirm the kit model when choosing a variant. Leave room to reach and turn the handle. Nearby drawers, furniture or a wall can interfere with its position. Choose it if you prefer manual adjustment and have measured enough room for the wider top.

Five checks before you order

1. Seated height: Measure the working height you need with your chair and keyboard in place. Compare it with the finished desk height, including the top.
2. Standing height: Measure your preferred keyboard position while wearing your usual footwear. A desk’s maximum height is useful only if it reaches your setup.
3. Usable space: Measure both desktop depth and width. Include monitor bases or arms, keyboard space and room to move your chair.
4. Load: Add up the desktop and equipment where required by the manufacturer’s load definition. Include monitor arms, drawers and other mounted accessories.

Is an electric desk always the better purchase?

No. Choose it for the convenience of powered adjustment, after checking that the complete configuration fits your space. Choose a crank desk if you accept the manual effort and prefer adjustment without electricity. Neither mechanism makes a poorly sized desk a good fit.
