Best USB-C Docking Station for Home Office (2026 Guide)
Research-based guide. Specifications checked against manufacturer pages on October 20, 2026. We have not physically tested these docks.
The best USB-C docking station for your home office is the one that supports your laptop and exact monitor setup. Port count alone will not tell you whether two screens can extend your desktop or charge your computer adequately.

Quick choice: Anker 575 or CalDigit TS4?
- Consider Anker 575: you have a compatible USB-C laptop and want office peripherals plus external displays, within the manufacturer’s resolution limits.
- Consider CalDigit TS4: you have a compatible Thunderbolt setup, need more connectivity and can use its 98W laptop charging.
- Check compatibility first: neither dock guarantees every screen arrangement on every Windows laptop or Mac.
Anker 575 USB-C Docking Station (13-in-1)
Anker lists 85W laptop charging, two HDMI outputs, DisplayPort, Ethernet and SD/microSD readers. Its specification lists a single 4K display at 60Hz, dual 4K at 30Hz, or three 1080p displays; the host’s capabilities still matter. Do not buy it expecting two independent 4K screens at 60Hz.
The laptop’s USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video and Power Delivery for charging. Check the manufacturer’s display configuration guidance for your operating system before ordering, especially if you need separate extended desktops on macOS.
Choose it for: a compatible office laptop whose charging and display requirements fit these limits. Skip it if: dual 4K at 60Hz is essential.
Read Anker’s specifications and compatibility notes.

CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock
CalDigit lists 18 ports, 98W laptop charging, 2.5Gb Ethernet and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. It is worth considering when you need a more connected workstation and your computer can use those capabilities.
Display support depends on the exact computer, chip, operating system, adapters and resolution. Do not assume that every MacBook supports two external extended displays simply because the dock has several outputs. Use CalDigit’s compatibility chart for your exact host.
Choose it for: a compatible Thunderbolt workstation with several peripherals. Skip it if: a basic hub meets your needs, or your laptop cannot use the features you are paying for.
Check CalDigit’s port list and host compatibility.

Five checks before buying a dock
- Identify your laptop: use the exact model and processor, not just “MacBook” or “Windows.”
- Check the host port: a USB-C connector does not by itself guarantee video output, charging or Thunderbolt support.
- Write down the screen requirement: number of displays, resolution, refresh rate and whether they must show different content.
- Check charging: compare the dock’s output with your laptop’s documented power requirements. High-load systems may need their original charger.
- Count the actual connections: include the right display cables, adapters, card readers and Ethernet, and check what comes in the box.
Can a dock replace a laptop charger?
Sometimes. The laptop must accept charging over the connected port and the dock must supply suitable power. A connector that fits is not proof of charging compatibility.
Do you need a dock if your monitor has USB-C?
Check the monitor first. If it already provides the video input, charging and peripheral ports you need, a separate dock may be unnecessary.
