The best monitor light bar for your home office starts with a fit check: the top edge of your monitor, its back panel, and the space occupied by your webcam. Then choose the controls you will actually use. A light bar can free up desk space, but a poor mounting fit can make an otherwise useful lamp frustrating.

BenQ ScreenBar Pro: automatic adjustment and a wider fit range
The ScreenBar Pro automatically adjusts brightness as ambient light changes. BenQ lists support for monitors 0.43–6.5 cm thick and curved displays in the 1000R–1800R range. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee for every monitor design. Check the official ScreenBar Pro product page against your display.
Consider it if you want automatic adjustment and your monitor falls within the documented mounting range. Compare its top edge and rear profile with the product illustrations. Make sure the listing says ScreenBar Pro; other ScreenBar versions have different mounting requirements and controls.
BenQ specifies USB-C power at 5 V / 1.7 A, with an 8.5 W maximum. Check the actual package for its adapter and any webcam accessory rather than assuming every seller includes the same bundle. An existing USB port must meet the lamp’s power requirements.

Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar: a wireless knob
The Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar uses a separate 2.4 GHz wireless remote. Rotate its knob to change brightness; press and rotate to change color temperature. The control is not built into the lamp. Xiaomi documents these controls on its official Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar page.
This layout suits a desk where you want to move the control between your keyboard and notebook. Check the exact model and included accessories in the listing, especially if a seller offers several Xiaomi or Mijia variants together.
Xiaomi specifies desktop monitors up to 32 mm thick. On displays thinner than 10 mm, support the lamp while changing its angle; the manufacturer does not recommend this model for laptops. Its magnetic light bar adjusts through 25 degrees. Curved-screen compatibility still depends on the actual mounting surface.
Power comes through USB-C, and the remote takes two AAA batteries. Xiaomi’s support FAQ specifies a 5 V supply with output above 1 A and a 2700K–6500K adjustment range. Check the power source and battery inclusion before checkout.
Check these four things before you order
- Webcam space. Both accessories may need the center of the monitor. Check each clamp’s footprint. If they interfere, consider a separate webcam stand or a mounting accessory explicitly compatible with both products.
- Screen curvature and rear shape. “For curved monitors” is not a universal fit guarantee. Compare the exact display model with the lamp maker’s guidance; monitor size in inches is not enough.
- USB power. A matching connector does not prove that a port supplies enough power. Follow the lamp’s manual and check whether your monitor’s USB ports stay powered when it sleeps.
- Light coverage. Think about where you write, read and place your keyboard. A lamp above the main display may leave a side work area dark. An adjustable desk lamp may suit that layout better.

Will a light bar eliminate screen reflections?
These lamps use directional lighting, but results depend on placement, screen finish and viewing angle. After installation, check the screen from your normal seated position with both light and dark content. Adjust the angle and brightness until the desk is useful to work on without a distracting reflection. Do not choose solely on a “zero glare” promise.
Which should you buy?
Start with the compatible mount. Then choose ScreenBar Pro if automatic adjustment matters more, or Xiaomi Mi if you prefer a movable wireless knob. Compare the current total price, seller, included accessories and return terms for the exact model. If neither fits your monitor and webcam together, keep looking rather than improvising an unstable mount.
